The Spyker C8 Aileron out on a photoshoot in Italy

Not so long ago, Spyker released official pictures of their C8 Aileron. As you you’ll see in the image gallery below, the Spyker C8 is just beautifully designed, but that’s of course only have the story as the internal components are as special as the outside. The car was created with super-light aluminum space frame, that reduces weight and helps the 4.2 liter V8 engine with 400 hp and 480 Nm of torque move much faster, in fact, it goes from 0 to 100 in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 300 km/h. It’s priced at 189,990 Euros. Fun fact: The Spyker cars don’t have door handles, they have a button next to the rear-view mirror that you press, so don’t embarrass yourself when you go out for a test drive.

Carlsson wants to tune the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series

Carlsson is known for tuning Mercedes-Benz cars, and branding it as a Carlsson, but this time they seriously have outdone themselves. While it’s not a finished project, the specs as well as the illustrations look fantastic. You might say that tuning a SL65 AMG Black Series is impossible, but according to Carlsson it’s not, and that is what they want to prove.

If everything goes like they plan, then the new Clarsson C25 would have a 6.0 liter V12 producing 753 horsepower and 848 lb-ft of torque, which would propel the supercar from 0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds. What’s even more interesting is the fact that they plan to build only 25 of these beasts, and even crazier is the fact that they are limiting just one car per country. No mention regarding the price, but you can bet it will be expensive.

Lamborghini to focus on weight reduction over horsepower increase

We’ve heard this from other manufacturers as well, such as Mercedes-Benz, but this is the first time a supercar manufacturer has stated that they will shift the focus from horsepower to weight. If your really think about and read what the Lambo CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, stated: “It has come to the point where acceleration equals consumption. More consumption means increased CO2 emissions.” So not only does it come down to engineering the car so that horsepower doesn’t dictate performance and speed, but also looking after the environment in the process.

This statement doesn’t just tell us that they’ll use more aluminum and carbon fiber in their future cars, but Winkelmann might also be hinting towards hybrid powertrains, or even all electric motors like we have with the Tesla.
