TechArt 911 Turbo to debut at 2010 Geneva Motor Show

Even thought the Geneva Motor Show is a few weeks away, the press releases have started going out. This is also the case with Techart and their tuned 911 Turbo. They will be unveiling both, a 911 Turbo and a 911 Turbo S. The improvement in the Turbo came via two seperate aerodynamic kits, which redueced lift and improved the airflow. The uprages also include forged wheels, which will be available up to 20 inch. A small roof spoiler not only adds to the visual appearance of the roof line, but also generates additional downforce. The guys at Techart also spent some time with the interior. They actually give you a choice, so it can be completely outfitted with the finest leather. The 3-spoke sporty steering wheel, aluminum pedals, dials in individual colors, or stainless steel entry strips embossed with the Techart logo are all installable – it’s your choice.

Pagani C9 spied in South Africa again

Just last week we published a spy shot of the all new Pagani C9, which is set to replace the Zonda next year. As luck will have it, an Autoblog reader came across the C9 in South Africa and took some very good spy shots. As you know, the C9 will use an AMG engine, which will have a 700 bhp 6.0-liter V12 engine that generates up to 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque.

New Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid to use F1 KERS technology

Porsche announced today the new 911 GT3 R Hybrid, which will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The new 911 Hybrid will feature a very innovative hybrid drive system, which was developed by Williams Hybrid Power Limited. The energy storage system was originally developed for use in Formula 1, so it’s certainly not your normal technology that is found in a Toyota or Honda. It works with the use of an electrically driven flywheel and a motor/generator on the gearbox. During braking the gearbox mounted generator drives the flywheel to spin it up to 40,000 rpm. When needed for extra acceleration, the flywheel drives its integrated motor/generator to spin provide power back to the unit on the gearbox.
If you’re familiar with the Formula 1 and the KERS technology that they started using last season, then you’ll understand this concept as well.

The one-off Pagani Zonda Tricolore

While Pagani is working hard on its next supercar, the C9, they have also had time to create a one-off custom Pagani Zonda Tricolore. This beauty features blue carbon fiber, along with new LED lights and a fin installed on the engine cover. The interior is also blue of course, which for some reason makes me thing of the “I am blue” song from Eiffel 65.
