Brand new and barely disguised Porsche 911 Carrera (991)

Just received a tip from one of readers who was lucky enough to catch a glimpse (and record it) of the brand new and barely disguised Porsche 911 Carrera (991) at a gas station in Stuttgart, Germany. Given the next 911’s longer wheelbase, we expect a more supple ride without a corresponding sacrifice in dynamic competence. The power comes from a 400bhp version of the 3.8 liter flat six found in today’s 380bhp Carrera S.

Thanks Toldi for the tip

Porsche brings an all new Speedster in 2011

Porsche 911 Speedster 2 Porsche brings an all new Speedster in 2011

Porsche one of the much respected brands in the market plans to relaunch the speedster. It is a way to respect the celebrated 356 Speedster which faded away with time; the company only produced 356 units of the old speedster and will present a new speedster by 2011.

Speedster will inherit a lot of features from the Porsche 911 GTS. The car will be on display in the Paris Motor Show 2010. A lot of interior styling is done as it was done long back in the old speedster. Some similarities are easily noticeable, shortened windscreen and sleek tail, and comes with a 60mm lowered and raked windscreen and the characteristic ‘double-bubble’ hardcover for the manual soft top.

It is loaded with a 3.8 liter engine which will deliver an approximate power of 408 horses which is surprisingly 23 hp more than the 911 Carrera.

The one shown in the pictures is exactly what will be available in 2011.
And the one in the pictures is a bright blue and the color is extended to the interiors.

Talking about the price, it will cost £144,100 and is a limited edition.

2010panamera1 554x368 Rumored Panamera GT2, the 928 descendant

Porsche plans to bring a variety of sports cars into the market from a sports car which is somewhat an SUV or a car which is a four door sedan and has all qualities of a sports car. Porsche also plans to bring small sports car with help of Volkswagen.

Be it Cayenne the SUV or the Panamera the sedan like sports car, at Porsche they have a lot of choices you can make.

According the new reports or rumors the Panamera platform may be used for reviving the 928 legacy the car may be used to develop a front engine GT and will be named the Panamera GT2 and of course extra 2 doors will be removed to make it sportier and to give it a coupe look.

No other details are known about the car but it may arrive once things settle after the Porsche-Volkswagen merger.

Tech Art Aero Kit for the Porsche 911 Turbo

porsche confirms babw 554x299 Tech Art Aero Kit for the Porsche 911 Turbo

Apart from Porsche there are other tuning specialists who are enthusiastically developing modification kits for the Porsche 911 and Tech Art is one of them.

This is the second kit Tech Art has introduced called the Aerodynamic Kit II. The first one was released earlier this year. The kit adds prominent side skirts to the car, a new rear apron with side air-vents and a large rear wing, a new front bumper with a lip spoiler and larger air-vents fitting in the firm’s multifunctional daytime running light system which combines daytime running lamps, position light, parking light and direction indicators in one LED system unit which is a common feature in all high end cars these days.

And Carbon fiber again comes into picture each and every component of the car is made up of carbon fiber and is extremely light weight. Both being light weight and giving the car an Aerodynamic shape helps in improving efficiency.

Check the pictures of the car with the add on kit and some ‘X – factor’.

Porsche brings the ‘Baby’ Boxster

porsche confirms babw 554x366 Porsche brings the ‘Baby’ Boxster

In the age of netbooks and ipads when everything is getting compact. Porsche plans to produce the well known Boxster in a much smaller size. And good news is reduction of the size will also reduce the price a bit. The baby will cost around $30,000 and one needs to wait till 2014.

Yes that is a long time may be Porsche is taking all that time to prove itself and give Porsche fans the best possible and it also needs to maintain the image in the market reducing the price and size should not mean compromise with the quality.

With that price tag Porsche will be competing with Subaru and Toyota sports cars.

Porsche will share some of the technology and probably some parts with Volkswagen as it will help in reducing the price of the car with the dimensions. The engine and the structure of the car will be aluminum to keep it light. The engine will be similar to a Volkswagen mid sized engine and will be 2.0 liter.
