VIDEO: Soccer player drives Gallardo off the road

As you’ll see in the video above, it’s not just American rappers and golfers that destroy exotic cars. In Europe it’s the Soccer players. Karim Benzema, the striker from Real Madrid, drove his Lamborghini Gallardo off the road on the French island La Réunion.

VIDEO: Jay Leno’s ‘The Fast and the Famous’

It is no secret that late night TV host Jay Leno is a “car guy,” so it shouldn’t surprise anyone to learn that the comedian has made a mini-film as an homage to Claude Lelouch’s “C’etait un Rendez-Vous,” (arguably the best car movie ever made) on the streets of Los Angeles.

Leno’s mini-film, “The Fast and the Famous” is shot on a 13 mile route; Mulholland east to Laurel Canyon south to Sunset Boulevard west to Coldwater Canyon north right back up to Mulholland. Leno believes this route to be LA’s “hidden circuit,” and it is coincidentally quite similar to Germany’s Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit. Is it really LA’s hidden circuit? You’ll have to watch the film to be the judge of that.

With curb weight of 2,810 pounds, a row-your-own six-speed manual and 650 horsepower and 618 pound-feet of torque on tap from its Volvo-sourced, twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, the M600 is a purist breath of fresh air in an era of tech-laden, heavyweight supercars. But stats (0-60 in three seconds, top speed of 225 mph) only tells half the tale.
